The llaüt is a traditional fishing boat that has been used along the entire western coast of the Mediterranean Sea. They are lateen sail boats that they could also move by rowing.
There are references to these boats from 1271 although they were numerous in the 20th century, when they were used to fish sardine and anchovy fillets. The name llaüt comes from the Arabic al-‘ud which means wood.
